Metal Tailgate Lettering

I have a 2022 Atlas Blue Metallic 502a Lariat. I wanted Velocity Blue but they changed it to Atlas for 2022. IMO the darker Atlas blue and the BAP look great if you like it with a "blended" look. The Velocity was better for a contrast with the BAP look. I like the contrast myself.

One thing I have looked to do is to add some silver metallic to the truck to add that contrast I am looking for. I have the black for the F-150 on the tailgate but I am looking for a metal insert instead. This gives it a small 3d dimension too. I have only been able to find one set with it being polished to a "mirror" finish (chrome). I would like a brushed stainless or aluminum look and not the chrome look.

I have scoured the internet but have not found anything. Does anyone out there know if this animal exists?

Check ebay? Or go see your local window tint and car wrap specialist. I have a guy up here in Spokane Valley, WA that did the "Platinum" black fill on my old 2015 tailgate before they were readily available. He just setup his tripod and laser scanned the letters on the apllique and printed them out. Turned out great. Low and behold months later they were a dime a dozen on ebay.
And yes they should have, or be able to order something that looks like brushed alum or whatever you want.

My '22 cant be done because they have textured the letters and they wont adhere well.

I also did tons of searches and research online. Ordered Tufskinz red letters, but they were flimsy and ABS plastic-y. Then, ordered the Ford-licensed ones...but, not from Ford as I was trying to save a few bucks. The ones from Ford accessory's are made for the textured tailgate. . Here's my 23. I don't think their EVER coming off of there.

and @azdub1 very good to know... thank you... the letters seem to fade into the applique and the stickers make it stand out nicely. As you can see my '15 was white like yours and Im thinking the black against my AM BLue will tie it in pretty well.

My pleasure! If you get yours and they are more grey or gunmetal, I'll pry mine off and swap with you! Lol. I didn't want chrome, but wanted a greyish color...the pic online is a tad deceiving. I even emailed them and their response was they look more grey in the sun, which they do not. Ha. I wish they looked more like the color in the pic. But, they are definitely Ford-licensed as they came in Ford packaging. Let us know how they turn out on your Antimatter Blue truck. I'm jelly - I love the AM and ruby red colors, but that's impossible to find in Plat with carmelo leather. My 2011 XLT was Blue Jeans Metallic which was close to the new AM, but not as nice. Good luck!

Tons of them on Amazon. The ones I bought (chrome for my agate black Lariat's tailgate) have held up great 25,000 miles in, through lots of salt and mess.

Thats funny... I also had a 2011 that was dark blue... didnt know the name, but youre right it is\was very close to this color. My gawsh look how small my kids are....

So I was hoping for a black hopefully. Yours almost looks black and @Superstock 3740 def looks black. For the life of me I cant find them on the Ford Accessory website. I will look at your link and others.

Thanks for the link. I had not seen these and I searched everywhere. Sometimes you get lucky with the 50 searches and sometimes it is just a strikeout. I am glad I asked here and you replied.

I went with these from that place. I'll see how "chromey" they look when I get them. I also wondered if I could somehow acid etch them to remove the chrome look. They are cheap enough to experiment with if I do not like how they look.

Yes I did see Amazon but they were all black or chrome and mostly plastic. I was hoping for stainless steel, with the gray stainless steel color. Like kitchen appliances.

I too was thinking of the Tufskins since I can order them in a color but I was keeping that option as a last resort. I have had the metal stainless steel ones in the past and they are outstanding.

That's hilarious! Beautiful truck....here's my baby. I kinda miss her and regret letting her go (with regards to all the issues I have had since acquiring my 21 Plati). But, my old truck went to a hard-working small family so it made me feel good knowing she would be taken care of and loved like I loved her. See pic.

I just went to order this product and its telling me its not made for my 22 truck? Its referring a Titanium stainless option, which I dont want....
