These trucks have been sitting for so long you know that the batteries are bad. One thing I would look for when you pick it up is the powerboost is specked for a 800 series battery. I have read that multiple people have been getting the 600 series batteries in them at delivery. If that’s the case that’s a quick way of getting a new battery right off the bat so you don’t have to go through all the testing and charging.

Thank you for that info. I’m taking mine into the dealership tomorrow for a 1000 mile oil change (I do this just because it’s a new engine) and I just checked my battery and it says 800. Not sure my blend date off the top of my head.

I thankfully haven’t had any codes or issues yet at 1300 miles just the low washer fluid indicator.

Curious as to why you get an oil change so soon. Never heard of someone doing so. Any reasoning?

@Meathead . Any movement on your truck? Mine pulled into Kansas City last night. I don’t know if it’s still there or not but it’s moving!?

It’s always good to do your first oil change at 1000 miles. Good rule of thumb with a new engine

I will make sure to do so! Never had a brand new vehicle before. Typically buy them a year or two old. Learn something new every day

I know at least one poster on here that used FoMoCo to get the 800 battery after having issues with the 760 battery (after the service manager refused to replace with the correct battery). Just a heads up if the battery gives you problems after delivery.

Good news! Rockwall Ford called today and the truck has arrived. They need to do the spray in liner and couple of other things. I can't pick it up until next week anyway.

I am just curious, probably a dumb question but, I have read on many posts about tracking of what modules are showing up for a truck that is on chip hold. What is that and how do i see that for my order?

No dumb questions around here! The modules are basically the code or instructions for your truck's computer. We can kind of get a sense of how close the truck is to being complete by how many modules are populating.

To see your modules, go to this site and input your VIN: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt

Copy the lines and paste them into Excel or something similar and look at how many lines you have. For different trim levels and packages the module count will vary, but you can find a truck similar to yours on a lot/dealer website and enter the VIN and compare and contrast

Go here. https://www.motorcraftservice.com/Home/SetCountry?returnUrl=/AsBuilt.
enter vin and it will give you your module list. Copy and paste them into excel or google sheets and it will give you how many lines you have. I have 1812. Different trucks have more or less. Some have shipped with as little as 950 and then they popup at the dealer. You can compare with another similar build and see what you’re missing. There is no exact science though. A lot of us were missing 720 modules and turned out we were missing instrument clusters. Good luck on your build!

I have the 800 Battery. I am heading over to pick up my truck at 3:15 PM. Sun is still out, Maybe get a better picture than in a garage. Then you all can see the giant snow piles.....
