Craziest thing happened today. Have only had my truck for a week. Been working perfectly. Today drove it to work, drove home, couple hours later was going to run to the store and when I started the truck, got this gawd awful noise from the speakers.
1. turned radio/audio off - no change
2. Turned the truck off - no change
3. Opened the door to power the whole system down - noise stopped.
4. turned accessory mode on/radio off - noise is present again.
5. attempted more of the same different orders, things on/off and fix.
6. took the wife’s car to the store. An hour later after returning home, hopped in the truck, turned it on - no issue, static gone everything works perfectly.

going to let the dealer know tomorrow but without the issue present probably not much they can do. I’ll update this thread as occurrences and/or fixes come about.

Well, apparently only lube techs at the dealer on Saturday. But they gentleman I talked to about it said his best guess would be an interference when a phone is connecting/connected to the truck. Said he’s had similar issues with his car and Bluetooth connects phones.

So for now I’ll wait until it happens again, and if it does I’ll remove my phone from the equation and see if that’s the smoking gun.

Hi, did this happen again and if so, did you find out if it was the interference? I had the same thing happen, it was this loud static and sounded like the speaker blew, then a low static for a few minutes for the rest of the evening, next day no issue and I don't think there is any lasting damge. Any additional information you found out appreciated, thanks!

Had this happen to me once as well. 45 minutes in the grocery store, when I came back out, it was fixed.

I've had a few weird "quirks" with this truck so far...

Unfortunately or fortunately it has never reoccurred. So I have not been able to 'diagnose' the issue, or anything, and at this point, I'm hoping that it was just a onetime event, and it corrected itself.

I am having the same problem and it is happening more often. Did you ever get a resolution to this?

@Ford Motor Company
It has never happened to me a second time. So I don't really have anything to resolve. The best thing you can do for troubleshooting is find a repeatable condition...If it happens often, you're more likely able to diagnose something.

So how often is "more often" for you?

Best first guess, try completely disconnecting your phone from the truck, no car play, no bluetooth, and run that for a few weeks or month and see if it reoccurs. If it doesn't it's likely a phone connection issue, if it does...who knows...possibly a bad ground, on the truck, or some other interference in your environment..(like high voltage power lines, 5G cell tower, or ??)

I am watching carefully for input. Twice now listening to SiriusXM. I too am happy children or wife or dog were not in the vehicle. Ear damage from the volume level would hurt kids. Can you imagine having a baby in the back when it happens? I had to pull over shut off the truck and open / close the door the first time, the second time it just stopped after trying buttons on the steering wheel and under the LCD screen. Power amp would be a guess, but could be Head Unit system. Undoubtedly getting either replaced may be tough if the chip shortage effects the sound system parts. My Iphone is never plugged in. I just listen to country on Sirius. But a loud boom followed by static both times in mine, music quit working, pointing to power amp perhaps. It rattled me and I am a military man who does not scare....easily. So the Ford rep here opened a case for my VIN. Really an odd issue but another recall for this should happen if people.....kids and babies suffer permanent ear issues. My mutt has very sensitive ears and she luckily was not in the vehicle either, when she wants to disobey her hearing gets bad for some reason. It was cool here in Colorado, 50s so not hot. It did happen after latest OTA. I am on Sync 4 version 21223 and 197? B and O Unleashed. It sounds good. I am at 5K miles with my 2021 F150 with no issues other than this. Wished I could just turn it off when it happens but I can't.

I had it on my lemon 2019 f`-150.
The service narrowed it down to an amplifier malfunction. I had the amp replaced from another issue. Previously, my rear speakers and bass wasn't really there.

Warranty is replacing amplifier and driver door speaker. I suspect the amp.

Traded it in to a 2021. Hope the gremlins stay away.

I had the exact same experience. While the problem was occurring, I completely shut down my phone and turned off the power to the phone. This did not stop the crazy loud static on the stereo. I could turn off my 2022 truck and open the door and it would stop but as soon as I stared the truck, it recurred. I had to drive about 5 miles with this insane noise. My ears as well as my wife’s ears were left ringing for 3 days. THIS IS DANGEROUS! The next day the stereo popped and crackled but the issue stopped by the time I got it to the dealership. They had it for nearly three weeks and said they found no issues. They ran a software update but didn’t know if this would really help. I called Ford Customer Service and the rep stated that she had not heard of this. I find that very hard to believe since a quick online search reveals many vehicles with this problem since at least mid 2021. Ford is going to cause wrecks and get people hurt as well as cause hearing damage.

This just happened to me for the 4th time tonight. I had to abandon my truck because it would not stop.

@coderx37 do you have a number for the tsb that your service department used as a reference?
