Expecting delivery of a MY '23 in a matter of days, weeks...months. I've settled on either a hard roll top or hard folding tonneau. Anyone have experience with both and have a favorite?

Between these two (I realize going Ford direct route is not the most economical):
Hard Fold: https://accessories.ford.com/products/f-150-2021-2022-rev-hard-folding-tonneau-cover-for-5-5-bed
Hard Roll-Up: https://accessories.ford.com/products/f-150-2015-2021-hard-roll-up-tonneau-cover-for-5-5-bed-1

Thanks All

I considered both. Was leaning towards roll up, but honestly the more information I collected the harder the decision became because each has pros and cons, but neither to the extent that made the decision obvious. Ultimately I ended up with hard folding because I found a rockin deal on a one that was gently used for a few months by someone that sold their truck after getting a company truck.

We're it not for that, I'd still be perseverating about it because my 22 is still somewhere "In Transit" and missing projected delivery dates every week.

Another for for Bakflip MX4
Does your close perfect everytime or do you find you need to jerk it around a bit to close it within the rails? The warranty is amazing i was thinking of making an appointment to get it checked out.

I just ordered the MX4 for my truck. It was between that and the X4S.
Cold weather and snow loads where I live pointed to the MX4 being the better choice.

I had a BAK Revolver X4 roll up on my last pickup and went with the Leer HF650M hard folding tonneau on my current one. I prefer the folding one.

I have the x4 on both of my trucks... mainly because my wife is short and the folding ones were too tall for her ;P

I do like the all black x4 (inside and out) vs the Ford branded version (x2 I think)

I've owned both over the years and greatly prefer the rollup. I went with the Retrax XR line this time to facilitate adding racks above the tonneau.

I did not need racks, but that is a nice system they have where side rack support is incorporated into the rail for the hard rolling cover.

Had the MX4 on my last truck and BAKflip F1 on the 2022. I just would not buy the ford ones, even thou they are made by BAKflip... the are sooo heavy...

I bought the Ford Accessories one for my 6.5 bed because I read it was built by BAKfip.

I had a backflip on my previous 5.5 bed. I didn't notice much difference in weight. To be honest I don't really think I paid attention to weight either. If I did notice a difference I probably would have attributed it to the fact that one was a tri-fold for a 5.5 bed and the other a quad-fold for a 6.5 bed.

I was happy with both. Never owned a hard roll up so can not comment on them.

Bak Industries is the OEM label for many.

Another +1 for the MX4 and hard folding cover. I’ve personally seen issues with the rubber seal on roll up covers getting damage and not sealing properly.
