New chip dates...

Thanks again for waiting! From what I can gather, your truck is currently on hold at the plant waiting on a microchip. We are working closely with our suppliers to address production constraints tied to the global semiconductor chip shortage. The delay is estimated to be resolved as early as May 6th, but no later than May 12th. Please kindly note this date may change to a sooner date if the microchip is secured before estimated, but you're more than welcome to check periodically with us, or the selling dealer to see if there's an update on that.
Well I guess that answers that. So I’m sure I’ll be pushed out too since your date was before mine. And yet people with builds later than us are being built and shipped

My local Ford dealers have slim to no F-series and expedition. The kicker is Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Chevrolet are like 50% back to normal. So does Ford sell that much better or is Fords head stuck up a tail pipe?
Not here they are not. No on has trucks/jeeps on the lots.

Chat tells me I’m still in my original window for it to be completed. I’m not holding my breath.

I’m going to check mine to
Oreos since 4/27 is the first day of my range to see if anything has changed.

So I called Marketing just to see what they had to say since they are the ones who first told me 4/27-5/3. She said it was moved offsite for the chip hold but she shows an eta to the dealer of 5/3 and that the 4/27 no longer shows. So it def seems in this instance that the chat is more correct since there is no way it’s making it to Vegas in a week when it’s off site for chip hold. When I tried to clarify she told me I needed to talk to my dealer

I get most things happening with ford, but there is no excuse whatsoever for their customer service agents to not know how to read the info they are given. The fact that they all say something different is inexcusable. Like fuck Ford, send your people a cheat sheet of what means what.

Ford is “confident” it can hit its 150,000 production target, according to Farley. He said the company has secured the lithium-ion batteries needed for that level of production – a major concern of investors and Wall Street analysts. Ford also will prioritize supplies of semiconductor chips, which have been a major supply chain problem for more than a year, for the Lightning, Farley said.

My truck will collect dust with 100's of others in the chip graveyard while trucks roll of the line and get delivered

My buddy works at ford in Michigan where the broncos are made and he told me they cut all their hours from 10 hour shifts to 8 hour and their chips are going to Dearborn for the Lightning … wtf, why don’t ford get all the truck they’re behind on assembled and shipped first before bringing new trucks out.

wow that’s pretty messed up that you are letting other vehicles stack up and sit so you can move production on a new line. I get needing to get some of them out, but doing it to the detriment of your other orders that have been stacking up is not a positive

So while some of this might be performance issues, some of it can be how it shows up on the VVR. I was told by Ford chat that my truck was produced, but then two weeks later I asked Chip for my VVR and it showed Chip Hold. BUT, that was because the line did show my truck as produced on the VVR, and wasn't update to chip hold until some time later.

They are just looking at the VVR. I think the play is to drop Ford chat, and just get a shot of the VVR from your salesperson, then you can make your own conclusions.

Yeah it’s complete BS. I’m reallllly thinking of going back to ram. This has been ridiculous with ford. And it’s the same thing here in Michigan as someone above said, the ram dealers get their ordered rams in within 30-45 days. I’ve been waiting going on 5 months. Lol

For me it’s not so much the wait, it’s how they are going about it. I don’t like they are completing and shipping trucks and not clearing the backlog of those that have been waiting, some way longer than me. To me they should be working to clear that back long and work down the line and it’s frustrating to see builds almost identical to your own that was ordered after you and built and shipped within days.

my other annoyance is the inconsistency in info. It’s easier to deal with it with accurate information vs changing info based on who you talk to
