When you get the CEL, has anyone read for codes?
Sponsored
My original was P237C as in the title. Since then, more have shown up and all the below appear now every time I read them:When you get the CEL, has anyone read for codes?
Yes - it is circled (by the parts guy). It looks like the part, which gives me hope that the parts diagram/number is correct. Thanks for posting. Is that the exchanger near HB2?
Regarding freezing - we had those here the past few weeks, but I didn't notice the leak until we had consistently above freezing temps (near 70 in the days and 40-50s at night).Yep, all those codes are probably grouped for a single malfunction
Next step is to address possible FREEZING of the valve. Do you think that the leakers are a result of freezing? I'm in the tropics where freezing temperatures are rare.
The next step is what 99.9% of techs will do.![]()
Yes both times my truck has gotten a CEL it has been the same code. When you get the CEL, has anyone read for codes?
Thanks - I'll be ordering that now. It's helpful to get a good reference on an internet site supplying digital services.Yes, that is the manual.
For the Powerboost it is 15,000 pages. And since you provide your VIN to purchase the manual, you will find the beginning of it containing very specific data regarding your truck.
Just because of my curious nature, the purchase was worth every penny the first time I viewed it. If there was ever a vehicle that warranted the customer to own the service manual, it is the early adopter Powerboost.![]()
Nice. That makes at least two of us now with parts in transit. Looks like the way to go is through Ford Motor and not just your dealer.Ford corporate person called me today and said my part was currently enroute. She's checking back on Thursday to see if it made it in yet.
So Ford has gone from a national backorder on the heat exchanger with no ETA just a few weeks ago to 2-3 days availability? That’s great if accurate. Perhaps Ford is actually paying attention to this in an attempt to stay ahead of a recall.I have a 2022 Ford F150 PowerBoost with 2,000 miles. Didn't get the CEL, but got a notification on the center screen that pro power was unavailable and then the engine fan started blowing so hard I could hear it in the truck. Pulled over and popped the hood and saw that the reservoir was almost completely empty. Took it to the dealer this morning and finally heard back from them this evening saying the exhaust was leaking coolant and they ordered a new exhaust part to replace it and the part should arrive in 2-3 days. That doesn't make any sense to me and after reading through this forum it sounds very much like the heat exchanger issue that others have noted. No loaner car from the dealer (said they don't have any). Asked about a rental car and they said they'd see what they could do tomorrow. I asked if I could call in the morning to check-in and they said "no, we'll call you".
Got my $99 manual in December, still haven't gotten through all of the 15,419 pages...Yes, that is the manual.

the heat exchanger is in the exhaust. thats what my dealer said too. And are you sure they said 2-3 days and not 2-3 weeks? Great news if trueI have a 2022 Ford F150 PowerBoost with 2,000 miles. I sure hope this is true. I just got an update this morning that there is no update. Dealer has no information on when the backordered part will even be available. @Nasto your part has been in transit for several days. Do they actually have tracking? I have tried to call @Ford Motor Company to try and escalate on my end but the number requires an extension. I am going on 3 weeks and still have no idea how long it might be.So Ford has gone from a national backorder on the heat exchanger with no ETA just a few weeks ago to 2-3 days availability?
