I ordered a full loaded with all packages2021 platinum through Granger in August.
Then changed to order 2022 platinum in September.
Definitly I am not the lucky 12%. Still no VIN no date.

:(
Sorry to hear - Not sure that it would matter now, but did you order the Adaptive Steering option for your Platinum?

It might not make you feel any better, but even some of us who have a VIN aren't feeling much Ford love. I have a converted 2021 to 2022 King Ranch order through Chapman Ford. Assuming similar percentages, I made the lucky 10% for VIN and scheduling. However, it doesn't seem to mean much as I'm now on my third build week. We'll see how it plays out!

I ordered a Platinum 701A in July and just got scheduled last week to 1/24. My build is identical to yours except of course it's not a KR (and it's a 4x4).

I wonder if there is an availability issue on one of the parts pushing us to that week. Let's hope it holds.

It didn't show this as an option when I was making the order. Maybe that was standard on Platinum? I am not quite sure.

WOW. That's at least a 7-month lead time to get the truck on hand. It seems that if I order a lower trim right now I could get the truck within 2 months

I also ordered from Granger and didn't originally get adaptive steering on my build. I added it two weeks ago and got scheduled the next week.

Lots of people on the forums had been saying that they weren't getting scheduled without AS and were getting scheduled right away after adding it. That was certainly my experience.

It was not an option previously visible on the Ford build and price and it is still not a visible option today (I just tried to build one and the AS option did not show). AS was a standard in the Plat and KR lines, until it became on option after April. The post April 2021 and current 2022 Plats and KRs show this on the build sheets (noted on a sticky thread on this forum).

On an 11/15 scheduling notes post from Ford, they noted not adding AS to Plats and KRs would delay the build. I don't know if that would matter now since all Plats and KRs are in Very Limited availability per the the last scheduling notes that were posted, or if it would further delay Plats and KRs even more without AS.

Dealers can see the AS option (17A) in their Ford web building program. They may not know you would want it, if you even did, especially if they were given a build sheet off Fords site saying, "price this out". I only knew about the AS option change because of this forum and asked to put it on my 22.

Thank you. Your information is very helpfull.
I would contact granger to add this. It only takes you 1 month to get VIN and 1 more month to get production date. That's amazing.

Glad to help. Dearborn stopped production for 3 days and started back up again today due to a number of parts being short. Hopefully they can continue production without interruption and not end up with a slow down like this summer.

Good luck with your build.

I see that there seems to be no holdups with the Limited. Although I suppose that there is more profit in those, so the KRs and Plats suffer.

Long time lurker and first time poster.

Never ordered a vehicle in my life. Knew some stuff, but this website has helped me understand how woefully underprepared and potentially stupid I am. I ordered in late Oct, and my build date is this week. I know what the DORA says, and for a short time last week there was actually a sticker on Ford’s order tracking site. I’m concerned when the truck arrives that I’ll be asked to pay over MSRP.

Any tips?

If it was me, I'd call the dealer today and ask for the pricing. Negotiate now, while you have some leverage - if they go MSRP + ADM - counter with Granger and 3% under invoice (not MSRP). Be prepared to walk away, order from Granger in IA (a long days drive away), and wait a bit longer, but have a significant savings if you don't get the price you want (which may be MSRP?).

I called 4 dealers locally here and only one would do invoice pricing. I went with Koons because they were 5% under invoice. If I felt uncomfortable with buying remote, I would have went with the local dealer. I will probably take my truck there for parts and accessories and service.

Your price depends on what you are willing to negotiate/wait for.

Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

If you didn't agree to pricing on the truck while ordering I'd have that conversation now with your dealer and then come up with a game plan.

I did the same thing when I ordered my first 2021 F-150 from a local dealer. After a complete lack of comms and a lost order, I went to another local dealer and placed another order at MSRP. Then I discovered these forums and learned about the dealers selling below invoice like Granger (closest to you in CO). I abandoned the local orders, which were never selected for scheduling anyway.

Looks like it's time to talk to the dealer. Are you eligible for X-Plan pricing? Better than paying MSRP or worse, MSRP and additional dealer markup. As mentioned, be prepared to possibly walk (if you don't have a nonrefundable deposit) and place a new order. It'd be a real shame since your current order is being built this week.

I called Chip at Granger and he gave me an order sheet with pricing, like he has for many others.

I then sent an email to the local dealer requesting pricing for the truck I had ordered. The initial agreement was left blank cause the “MY21 pricing is different than MY22 pricing.” The local dealership said MSRP was my price. I said that wasn’t good enough. They countered that I had agreed to an MSRP sales price when I signed the agreement. I don‘t remember that ever being discussed.

So I placed a separate order for the exact same truck with Chip at Granger this afternoon.

I understand I’ll be eating the deposit I put down with the local dealer. My only concern is that they might try and force me to buy the truck based on the purchase agreement. The truck is either already built or being built this week.

Am I on the hook for the original order other than losing my deposit?
