Has anyone else encountered the Lane Center portion of the driver assistance shutting off with no warning?

I'm not talking about when it can't see the lines in the road for a while and the circle turns orange and says "Cancelled." When it does this it comes back on automatically once it can determine where the edges of the road are again.

I'm talking about driving down a road with well defined edge lines and suddenly the truck starts drifting in the lane, you look down and the circle is off. No warning or indication, it just shut itself off. The adaptive cruise spacing and Lane-Keeping are both still on, but Lane Centering is off.

Even more irritatingly, no matter what I try I cannot get it to come back on and activate again short of stopping, shutting off the truck completely, opening the door and closing to shut down everything, and restarting again. Then it works completely normally.
You may find the explanation in the manual. It not a flaw, it is an intentional design feature. If you check the manual (page 323 of the pdf version) under Adaptive Cruise Control --> Lane Centering --> Lane Centering Alerts you will see this note...
Note: The system disables until the next key cycle if your vehicle slows down due to driver inactivity twice within a key cycle.
Hope this helps.

My vehicle hasn't slowed down due to driver inactivity though. It's like it'll get randomly confused by the lines, and then just not turn back on. Whereas other times when it gets confused multiple times it'll just turn back on when it's no longer confused. What's happening to me must be a bug.

While the first half of the note that you provided (Thank you for finding that) sounds like the issue I am having, I also will add the same as @Itsjustmd my truck hasn't slowed down, nor given me the "Hold onto the wheel, stupid" message before it shuts off. I will just be cruising along and suddenly find that the resistance in the steering changes, I'm getting closer to one line or the other, and the circle around the driver assistance truck image has disappeared and been replaced with the Lane Keeping lines. Once this occurs it will not turn back on again until the next key cycle, again, as mentioned.

Based in your findings I am wondering if the truck is falsely registering these slow down to inactivity events.

I was having a great deal of trouble with "hands on wheel" warnings, etc. Gripping the wheel firmly with two hands didn't seem to have the desired effect.
After reading the "hack" thread (which imho I disagree with on a number of levels) I tried active steering participation. I'm not trying to overpower the system but just letting the truck know I'm still there. There is a little freeplay in the wheel (like an old manual steering box with some wear). I let the lane centering servo take up the slack and bump my hand slightly before following along through the turn. On straight stretches of road, you can rock the wheel slightly from the limit of the freeplay in one direction to the other to keep the system happy.
I'm thinking that I was so eager to keep up that the system misunderstood the lack of resistance with inattention. I can even use this system with one hand without triggering any warnings.

Well it seems it's still a problem.
Mine shut off on a 400 mile trip and will not engage, no matter what I do.
Has anyone had a dealer diagnosis and repair.
I've tried the shut down and restart to no avail.
Going to clean window but it looks clear in front of the camera.

Good morning! Would you please send over a private message with your VIN so I can look into this lane-centering concern on my end? I would like to see what I can do to assist!

What the actual hell? Mine has been an issue from day 1, and I can't even get any dealerships to take it seriously! Does the Official Ford account just swoop in and pick people at random? WTF?

Need any more examples of this? Since I can't get anyone else to take it seriously?

I disagree. But I am glad that you are getting taken care of. So far my luck has been very hit-or-miss with Ford. And mostly miss.

I'm sure if you contact him civilly he would probaly help you.
What has the dealership said?
I can't imagine a dealership wouldn't address it.
I switched dealers just for that reason.

Ford has customer satisfaction reps that will escalate issues you have with dealers.
I've had other issues and they have all been dealt with 100%.
Ford has been great to me..
5*

I'm sure they don't read every complaint we post.
I was probably just lucky.
I bet they will pick up on yours also.
I've seen several threads but haven't seen one say they have had it fixed are that they still have the problem.
I'll keep you posted if you like.
