Anyone know if there is another option to re configure in for scan to have the mirrors fold and unfold when locked and unlocked. Mine will only fold when I hit the button on the door

@Chaos150

I have a '23 XLT SCAB 302A w/o 360 (well currently) I found that just changing PDM and DDM had same results as you are seeing - switches worked great (I have tow, so also extend) but no autofold on lock/unlock/open.

Magic for me was enabling these two and now working as expected (well I think at least) with Lincoln Fold:

IPC 720-02-01 [xxxx-*xxx -xx--] (You should look at @Livnitup's spreadsheet here or just use the easy mode for this one. As there are lots of options for this and I had to do a lot of back and forth to make sure I got it right, then just ended up using easy mode myself)

APIM 7D0-09-01 [xxxx-xx*x -xx--] (Again, I suggest either study the spreadsheet or just use easy mode. For me the setting change was from 2228 —> 22A8 but no idea if that is correct for you.)

Other Experiment: I tried also toggling various settings in APIM 7D0-09-04 [xx*x-xxxx-xx--] but can't seem to figure out what that did so went back to leaving it alone at (for me) 9340.

I was in your boat, but then just started searching for "fold" in the spreadsheets above, found these and then the most important step (which never showed for me with just PDM and DDM) was enabled it on the screen (Vehicle → Mirrors). I suspect that what was going on is that some higher trims (and maybe SCREWS?) already have IPC and APIM setup so most folks just have to enable the DDM and PDM, but power (in my case trailer tow) are not an option on the '23 XLT so I'm assuming the APIM and IPC were never even enabled for my VIN. Suspicion only, but that's how my experimentation went.

For the record, if anyone is curious - I used the Boosted Grey Goose harnesses.

Thanks for the info. I have the the folding harness from boosted but recently got the fold and extend harness. I never got the instructions to get that installed. By any chance would you still have it?

i had to do 1 additional forscan tweak in apim (iirc) beyond what these threads say to do, in order to enable the button in sync which toggles the auto-fold upon lock. 21 XLT.

Does anyone know if ML3Z-17696-DA (kit with both mirrors and switch) will work in a 2021 XLT with the GreyGoose wiring kit.

Sites say these mirrors are for 2022+ for some reason not 2021? It may say that because of the wiring harness not the mirrors itself? Dont understand the difference between 2021 and 2022 tow mirrors…

@noloco - thanks for all the detective work. I have a '23 XLT SCREW fully loaded with 302A and pretty much everything else, including Co-Pilot 360 2.0, max towing and 360 cameras, puddle lights, etc. I recently bought a set of regular, non-towing but power fold mirrors that came from a Lariat with similar other options as mine, a '22.

I saw a YouTube video that showed the Boosted Grey Goose harness install with used PF mirrors, associated new trim with the PF button, and FORscan changes included with Grey Goose's instructions. At the end of the process, the YouTuber showed everything working without additional FORscan changes as your post outlines - which all seem correct when I look at the spreadsheet and read the posts of others experiencing various issues with more limited FORscan changes.

I'm going to soon start the mirror-swap process and will try, at the hopefully successful conclusion, to write up a consolidated procedure of what to do from start to finish. I think mine will be a pretty comprehensive case that folks can apply to their own circumstances, though I probably won't do the Lincoln stuff as I want to retain working puddle lights; also - as I understand it - at the end, my truck should work almost identically to my wife's Volvo with power fold mirrors, so an old guy like me won't have to remember which vehicle he's driving ;) .

Hey guys,

trying to do this mod. I have the new window switch and wiring harness on order. Got the mirrors today and decided to install them while I wait for the harness and new switch.

After install everything works BUT the 360 camera.

I am also getting this error when I go into reverse.

I switched the camera on the passenger side with my camera from my old mirrors and still get the same as above.

Might be something simple but am I doing something wrong??

Is there another place to get the wiring harness? The boosted grey goose site says they are sold out. Watching the video, it looks like just 2 wires on each side. I'm thinking I can make my own harness and save $140?

He makes a nice product. I bought it. Only two wires per mirror. If I knew what exactly which pins to order and the wiring, I’d do the same.
Also, I want to connect the cameras too. I’ve been looking around to see what wiring Is need for those. I haven’t found anything about adding wires, just complete door harness swaps.

There is a thread about adding the 360 cameras if that's what your wanting to do. I did it not to long ago and it's awesome.

I’ve seen those. I just haven’t been able to find anything about adding the mirror camera wires without replacing whole door harness’.

It's pretty easy. It's 1 coax cable per door. One of these tools would make it a lot easier. I bought this after I did them for any future plans of running wires through any gromet. I used a small fiberglass rod for fishing wires. Made a small slit in the door jamb boot and fed it in.
