Making this pretty late so I’m sorry if I’m missing info or anything along those lines.
Apple’s WWDC concluded today and afterwards they released a lot of videos describing how to use the newly released API’s. I’m super nerdy and love living on the bleeding edge (but can’t afford a new truck every time a new feature is released ?), I’m anxiously waiting on how Ford will implement Next Gen CarPlay into their vehicles, but with how they described the architecture maybe it could be retrofitted or updated to work with most if not all 14th Gen F150s.
If you happen to know more of the inner working of the Sync4/4a/4 enhanced maybe this could be a possibility. It excites me, just thought the info may be relevant to someone out there

Not going to happen on sync 4 systems. Ford is busy on developing Sync 5, this new version will be able to support the advance CarPlay.

More info here: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/sync-5-preview-codename-phoenix.20079/#post-388203
How do I dislike a post ?
That’s really unfortunate, I didn’t even know they were working on Sync 5!! I guess I’ll just have to pony up the money when the time comes to see if the modules are interchangeable (doubt) but I’m a VW/Audi tech and with how locked down the German’s have their software, as long as you’ve got all of the parts the module is looking for, it’s just the programming that takes majority of the time

:ROFLMAO:, the lack of a touch screen for the cluster is one of the reasons the current system would not be supported. It might be possible to swap modules, but you would end up with a truck where you could never update the software on the modules. I suspect t we will need to wait for Gen 15, in 2027/2028.

Bring the 5.0 options to the trims above the Lariat and I’ll consider the upgrade. Otherwise I’m holding onto this Coyote until it dies, I die, or they make a last call model :(
