Weird camper top 3rd brake light behavior.

Hello all.

Here is the issue i installed a SmartCap on my job one 21 F150 PB and to hook up the 3rd brake light i had to tap the hidden wire under the air box. It worked great 3rd brake works as it should when the truck is running. When i shut off the truck and exit and lock and all other lights go dark the camper top 3rd brake flashes for a couple of minutes then stops and this repeats every time. I put a meter on the lead and it pulses 0 Volts to 5 Volts for about 3 minutes after everything else has gone dark. Any Ideas? Normal?

It will also do this if i access the truck without starting. like just open the door and relocking this sequence starts all over. flashes for about two minutes then stops. It must have some to do with the approach feature (Puddle lights) as it also does it just walking up to the truck with the keys in my pocket.

hmm on the PB trucks its pretty much a normal behavior
mine is not a pb and its dead as soon as truck is off
i think on the PBs it has something to do with the shutting down and batteries ev parts
on all my other fords, the camper middle brake light was LIVE 24/7, just needed to touch brake pedal
ford changed this behavior for some unknown reason

No i never did ended up just unplugging it and going without it at all.

I came a cross a video on youtube where someone installed an led load equalizer in line and it solved the problem. I will be trying the same in a few days when I have the time, but the comments are full of people who were also successful.
