Had my truck parked in the driveway as level as possible with the factory rake and it rained pretty good. Went to leave later that night and saw some water dripping from the overhead console/rear view mirror.

I couldnt tell exactly where it was coming from but it initially thought the pano roof. However from other posts mainly on Facebook those leaks are near the a pillars and come out of the sides not the direct middle. I poured a lot of water in the open pano roof track at the front and the drain sucked it down to the ground without any hesitation or much buildup which was direct poured, not slipping though the seal of the window glass.

Others suggested from the windshield as there’s been issues. I haven’t found much information on a windshield issue. Don’t want to have a ruined $70k truck that can’t handle some rain as im FL and I’ll have to get rid of it before summer rolls around if that can’t be fixed.

If it is the front seal of the pano roof im not opposed to a new seal being put in that prevents opening. I mainly use it to roll the sunshade back that’s it, opened maybe one time in 6 months.

On election day I was dropping my ballot off and water started dripping onto my leg out of the speaker hole above the driver. Upon further inspection the entire drivers side headliner was soaked from mid door around to the mirror as well as the floor up behind the pedals but under the floor mat. I took it in anticipating it was a disconnected drain tube. I had only ever opened the roof twice and a third time was to check after finding the water. There was a very small amount of water in the tray up front. I took it to the dealer (not an easy task) and they determined the tubes were clear and connected but sometimes about the track wasn't mounted high enough so the water was missing the tray that gets it to the drain tubes. I back up into my driveway that is on an angle so it is nose down usually. I haven't noticed anything since, but we haven't had as big of a storm here in the Seattle area since either.

If you bought this truck from dealer inventory, you have to wonder if the dealer was aware of the leak before you purchased.

Nope. Ordered the truck and took home within 5 hours of it hitting their lot. Also no idea how the dealer would even know about it since this is the first it’s happened in 6 months of owning it.

If you are in Central Florida there is a great water leak company that handles all of the Orlando area dealers. Get it into a Ford dealer around there and it'll get fixed.

I have a similar issue with my panoramic roof F-150. I owned it for a year now and twice now after some days of rain, I go to drive and when I take a long sweeping corner I'll have rain come out of that center console on the ceiling above the rear view mirror. I have checked and dumped water in all four corners with the sunroof open and water drains out of all four corners.

I read another thread where someone said there was a piece replaced that was cracked somewhere in the sunroof and that fixed their issue. They didn't have the specifics on the piece that was replaced however.

Someone noted that maybe my drain tubes could not keep up. However, this was after my vehicle sat for a while that I drove it and that water drained out. The moon roof was completely closed. I verified that after it leaked. Not sure what I can adjust or inspect at this point. Very frustrating though. I do have the extended bumper to bumper so I can take it in, but I'd like to fix it myself quickly if I could.

Well another heavy rain this morning. Wife takes the truck to take the kids to school and she said it leaked again. Have an appointment on 23rd with Ford to replace my front seat bottom since the upholstery won’t stay attached to the frame. Going to just leave it with them I guess to look into this.

Hope they find something. Please report back if they do.

I've had three leaks on my 2021; two have been back at the dealer. First on the driver's side 1 inch grill at the corner. The second at the center overhead console. now back at the drivers side little round grill. I've now investigated myself and note 1) the drain hole in drivers' side wheel well seems to be flowing water out a drain hole. 2) there is no similar drain hole in the passenger side wheel well. 3) i can see the water flowing into the channel on both the passenger and drivers' side. But when I dry the roof and open the moon roof, I see drops of water on the sliding channel but not large puddles. I am at a loss.

I have read stories that drain tubes have been disconnected or never connected from factory. I wonder if that could be your passenger side issue?

I laid the hose on top of my truck on for 45 minutes. That type of water flow is more than I would think regular rain would be in my mind. I never got any drips in the cab after that. The water comes in at a steady pace in the center between the two glass panels but that is normal operation. I immediately opened the sunroof and the center channel was dry so water never got so backed up as to go in the middle. No clue at this point.

On a side note I did find some imperfections in the paint on the hood that will also have to be addressed. One looks like debris under the clear coat so it’s a raised bump ?. I know it’s technically minor but Ford really has no excuses for these problems.

Hi John. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this for you.

To get water to come out of the console you have 2 spots. 1st is sat radio antenna. 2nd..........you ready for it?? Its water dripping behind the rain gutter at the center front. The gasket around the glass itself does not seal good and If your truck is dark in color and sits in the sun 98% of the time the seal that goes between the piano roof frame and truck roof moves and water drops right down in the console or headliner on the side. To test take and open your roof truck level. And run water in a steady stream on the painted surface not hard just steady. Water will run into space between roof and where glass / gasket should be and run into rain gutter between wind deflector (screen thing) and roof. Water will run down the painted roof side and roll back instead of dripping into gutter it runs behind it directly into console or headliner. I put frog tape from painted edge to the gutter( in front of wind screen thing) and tested with headliner out and no more leaks. So going to replace all gaskets!
