USB not charging/connecting to Sync?

I just recently completed a swap from a jump seat to a console. There was only one wire out of the three (four?) connectors that actually matched up, and it was a USB-mini connector (shown below). I assumed that this went to the USB-C port in my media bin, but plugging my phone in after the install is done results in... Nothing. No charge, no connection to Sync, nothing.

So, before I tear it apart to try and figure out what's going on - anyone got a, "You maroon, you didn't do THIS" for me?

edit: The "media port" in the console requires BOTH plugs to be installed in order for it to work for Sync. Gotta built a little extension harness!
