Anyone?

Does anyone have a part number for the factor nuts that are used on the rear suspension U-bolts on our trucks?

If not and you feel like a challenge, try to find it. I found the part number for the 2WD U-bolts themselves (ML3Z-5705-A).

Now I just need the nuts but they have proved elusive to say the least.

TIA

On my truck the U bolts go through #7 and then into the nuts. So I assumed #9 was the correct nut. Looking at the image more closely, #9 is flanged, #5 is not. My current nuts are flanged

This is assuming the image is correct.

But now that you found the #9 nut price and part number and they are only $0.69. Not much of a gamble to just order some.

Thank you very much.

Just FYI, if you want to 'complete' a spacer block removal project and maintain the full suspension compression-travel after removing the blocks, the shorter 2WD bump-stops are ML3Z*4730*A (same both sides, total of 2 required, uses the same mounting bolt as the original longer bump-stops).

No way! Had not thought of that.

Yes, 'way'! ?

If you leave the OE 'long' 4WD bump-stops when you remove the 1-1/4" thick blocks, the axle is 1-1/4" closer to the stop, reducing the compression travel by that amount.

Swap the bump-stops, no clearance problems, Bob's-yer-uncle, you're completely re-configured with full suspension travel. ;)

(BTW, I checked when I did this, my shocks do not 'bottom out' with maximum compression against the shorter bump-stops)

OK well all parts are ordered, u-bolts, nuts and bump stops. Even at a discount this was close to $200. But I had my last truck almost 20 years and I fully expect to keep this one as long so might as well do it "right."

Thanks for all the help.

Looking to do the same thing. Did the nuts you went with end up being the right part number? Part number? Did you reuse the bolts for the bump stops? Or new hardware for those as well?

Yes, the u-bolt nuts I ordered were correct. I re-used the bolts that hold on the bump stop. They are a 1/2" socket and they are long.

The new bump stops from the part number above were a bit different. They have two locating tabs on each side of the bolt hole but those tabs did not BOTH line up with the holes in my frame. I could get one or the other into a hole and the bolt threaded. So I simply bent one down. Did not matter which one, I just bent one flat and the other locating tab fit into each hole and the bolt threaded right in. Btwn the bolt and the one locating tab, the bump stops are not going to rotate.

Also, you are going to want to use rear shocks for a 2WD truck. The shocks for a 4x4 will be too long and will bottom out before the bump stop hits the axle.
