Just wired-up an LED-lit Christmas Wreath for the Holidays. A lot of fun!

Wreath.webp
Is that the "BAMBIE MODE" with the lights?

Thank you.

I ran an exterior green 25’ Christmas extension chord from behind the bottom of the grill (and in front of the louvres), around the air intake, down along the passenger side of the engine compartment, and ran it along the outside of the box-frame beams to the back of the cab and up into the bed, where I plugged it into the inverter of my PowerBoost. I can turn the lights on and off from the big screen.

I used 7 or 8 wire ties to keep the cord in-place and made sure to keep the extension cord outboard from hot surfaces and inboard of the retractable step of my Platinum.

A fun project!

I wanted to ask how you did it..
Is it possible to power it while driving..
I'm a year into ownership and haven't tried to power anything.
Guess I should make sure it even works..

It’s funny. I have had mine a bit over 6 months and have only used it once. This was a learning experience for me too.

The short answer is Yes. The vehicle senses that the outlet cover is open and that something is plugged in. After starting the truck, 2 windows pop up asking you to confirm that something is indeed plugged in and then to confirm it’s safe to drive. Then, upon turning off the car, a third window pops up asking if you want to run it (outdoors) thereafter, noting that the ICE will come on at times. Pretty well thought out!

I have found that keeping the generator powered on cuts between 2 and 3 mpg. Not being a Scrooge - just say'in.

Perhaps it depends on what is plugged into it. I only have 1 data point with this 50-lite LED strand and I haven’t noticed a difference. Something to monitor. Thank you.

That’s pretty funny. Congratulations.

No, I am not an old lady. I am an adult male. I am a father. My children really loved it. Perhaps if I was an insecure little boy, I would mock others for bringing a little Christmas cheer to children. Fortunately, I am not that. I am a man. I am quite secure and understand well what matters in this life.

You should try it instead of acting like a puerile little troll. Maybe people would like you. At least, until they got to know you.

Now run along and think about what you should change in your life, how you too might spread a little holiday cheer. Living all alone, high atop Mount Crumpet, surely has made you a miserable little grinch.
