Unfortunately disabling the speed limit assist did not change the system from slowing down suddenly. The one spot was a construction zone a few years back. Some how the system still thinks that it is? Thanks for everyones input. Must be a software issue using some old map data?

Here's what should be turned off, I'm not sure if that's what you changed or not. It may be listed as "Intelligent Cruise" or similar now after a more recent update.

I really did not want to turn off speed sign recognition, only as a last resort. Where my truck is suddenly changing speed is not posted with any signs. As per a suggestion I turned off speed warning which did not help my problem. Thanks for the input.

That picture doesn't look like you're in the correct menu. It should be an option under crude control itself, and if I remember my truck properly, there were 4 options available there.

Wrong setting, it's under cruise control and speed sign recognition.

Unfortunately it sounds like you don't want to turn it off though as that disables auto speed changes also, which is very nice and hard to live without once you get use to it. I kinda wish there was some more options to enable just seeing speed signs and/or going off map data independently. There might be a way to disable the fusion map part and go strictly off what the camera sees, but would have to dive into it and see.

Yep you nailed it. I did turn it off on last nights drive and I do miss the feature. I will turn it back on and wait for a map update to correct it, fingers cross. Thanks for the posts.

I tried the system for a while but at certain overpasses on the interstate if would read a sign on the road below and suddenly drop to like 35mph. Not fun at all when you're cruising at 72.

My Truck will change speed on certain roads with no speed limit sign in sight while using Adaptive Cruise. Always at the same place.
Any suggestions how this could be corrected? Thanks

Good afternoon. Could you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to take a closer look at your cruise control concerns.

I have had this issue quite a few times in a few different locations.

In one case, the speed sign recognition was picking up a 55mph sign on the frontage road when I was on the freeway with a 70mph limit.

In the other case, I thought it was similar to the first in that it slowed me down to 55mph in a similar spot, but there were no speed signs. This is on a 4-lane freeway. After some experimenting, I found that if I were in the far left 2 lanes, it would not slow down. If I were in the right 2 lanes, it tries to drop to 55mph. I think what is happening is the system is using the speed zone listed on the Ford map/nav app, and it thinks I am on the frontage road. It may be a leftover from some road construction that was done in the relatively recent past, and the positioning of the lanes when the mapping vehicles last came through...

I had the opposite happen to me. The first time I was out with that feature on I was on a frontage road with a 35 MPH limit and it picked up the 70 MPH from the freeway and tried to take off. I turned it off after that since I don't need that happening again.

Along Hyw 53 North from Eau Claire to Superior there are many unmarked 35mph side roads running parallel to the main highway just over the main highway right away. Maybe the earths position relative to the overhead satellites, cloud cover or the Moon who to heck knows. But on that day the system picks up the 35mph and slams on the binders out of nowhere. Only option turn off cruise and go old style.

I have several areas that I tend to drive that have the same issue. For the most part, as long as I'm paying attention (as I always am;)) I'm ready to disengage before anything dramatic happens. Yes, it can be not very pleasant but I look at it this way, all the safety features just might save a life if I keep them on. Off doesn't help at all.
