My 2023 King Ranch 4x4 Powerboost had the driver’s tow mirror start that horrible squeaking sound around 100 miles ago. Was driving me crazy.

I didn’t want to spray WD-40 given it’s such a dust magnet. Really didn’t want to spray white lithium grease all over the black plastic either.

I solved my issue by using a small tube of dry black graphite extra fine powder into all seams when opened and closed. Took about 3 tries to eliminate the squeak. I then blew out as much powder as was visible. Finally put some clear dielectric grease along all seams opened and closed to keep the water out a bit better. Cleaned up with a rag and solved my squeaking

I don't mind squeaks but my tow mirrors sometimes do not unfold or sometimes does not extend, so I need to help it out.

Odd the extend issue seems like something physical but the unfold problem seems more software or electrical

It’s not a software or electrical problem. The electronics is actually working as designed. The electronics senses the current, if the current goes up because it hits something or is binding, it shuts off. Just like the operation of the windows but they go down if the current is to high.

Mine make a horrible squealing sound too when hot when unfolding.

Like @FordConvert mine don't always open fully either. Happened 3 times in the first 5 weeks of ownership (started a thread on it in March '22). Dealer said I could drop it off for a few days, but couldn't schedule an appointment until a week or so later (I drove it there on the way home from work with a half opened mirror so they could see it first hand).

Not being able to be without it for an unknown amount of time, I did recalibrate the mirrors, and it seems to have helped. Not completely fixed, but it's only done it a couple of times in the past year plus.

Anyone ever find a good solution to the squeaky to mirrors? My first warm season with them and the squeaking is bad already. Dealer says it’s normal.

Mine stopped. squirted some grease, and it smoothed out a bit.

I've used Blaster Advanced Dry Lube. Mine has the PTFE, but I guess they reformulated it to remove the Teflon (maybe PFAS related...). In any case, it worked for me, but re-applied every 6 months or so.

Blaster also has a Graphite dry lubricant. I haven't used it but others on here have - I'm hesitant to use graphite products in electrical applications as graphite is eclectically conductive (including the lubes and powders on the market today). There are many electrical components in these mirrors that could get shorted out and cause bigger issues.

YMMV - good luck. I agree, its loud and annoying!
