Shifter gear selector clunky

2021 XLT FX4 with 2.7L, just noticed recently that when shifting from P to D i hear a loud clunky noise. I also sometimes get a drop in RPM when going from D to R , as if the engine almost stalls.
I always let the engine warm for about 2 minutes before driving away.
Any idea….. will contact dealership tomorrow to make appointment.
