So this has been an ongoing issue over the past month. I bought my truck about two months ago and after a few weeks the screen went completely black. sound and bluetooth still worked fortunately but nothing would show up on the screen. naturally i called my dealer and got scheduled for service. I was told initially that it was a faulty APIM and not a huge deal to replace. After the install of the APIM I was told Fords update software was "corrupted" and the techs needed a new file from Ford. after yet another week I was told the dealer had a fix and to no surprise at this point I was told the file Ford sent them still did not work.

Now I am told there is nothing the Ford dealer or service center can do and I will be without a screen until Ford magically figures out a fix for my brand new $60,000 truck. I'm even told I should feel lucky it's not worse because they have about 18 other cars with the same issue.

has anyone else had a similar problem and had it resolved? Never would I have guessed buying a brand new truck would result in the dealer pretty much telling you "good luck, nothing we can do" when a main component of the truck is completely out of commission.

At what point is enough enough and I just start a buyback process.

Hi Joe. This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd like to see how I can assist you with this concern on my end.
