Scheduling weeks?

So for the last month, I have been getting my build date pushed out further and further due to the KCAP shutdowns. At what point do you think that it will eventually get called off due to them not being able to build all the trucks they have order for before their published order closure and build dates? If they keep shutting down, there is no way I see possible they can build them all if they can't get the parts needed. And as I type this there are still people placing orders for 2021's. Can they actually build and deliver "new" 2021's in 2022?

People at dealerships insist to me that if you have a VIn your truck will be built and then they add unless they run out of MY 21 specific parts whatever those could be.

I think Ford could eliminate the backlog in one full week of production if they focused just on retail orders. The logistics of it might need to be spread over multiple weeks, but surely they have the capacity if they cut stock orders.

I doubt it. Did you see the August production info? In just August retail orders are up 4 fold with 41,000 new orders. Plus this week and either next or last Dearborn is running 1 shift, Missouri plant is shutdown for 2 weeks.

41k new retail orders across all brands/models/cars/suvs/trucks. Even if f150 are 20% of that, it’s still only ~8k on top of a backlog of ~5k (according to a granger post). With both plants operating full bore, they can produce how many trucks a week?

Well, right now KCAP is producing zero/hour and has for 8 of the 16 weeks, that I have had mine on order! So with that calculation, I should expect another 16 weeks before I see it!

Well, now my build date is 9-20. I will now be able to see the 2022 order guide to see if any changes will happen for 22 before my truck is built!
