Retrax Pro XR rubber seal

Anybody that has installed a retrax pro XR on their truck trim the rubber seal flush to the bed rail or leave it and put a piece of weather strip on the truck cap?

Left mine unmodified and so far the cargo area has been dry as a bone. And living in the Pacific Northwest, that’s saying something.

Does this trim and tuck stay dry for you? High pressure car wash? Looks so much better!

Find I get some leaks at the tail gate going through car wash. Bought the rubber gasket kit but haven't installed. Anyone having luck with the seal kit resolving this issue?

Side note, love my Retrax Pro XR. Very strong construction and great customer service. It gets a little hot to handle here in FL, but it's black, par for the course.

does stay dry...don't use carwash...during driveway washes it stays dry. i also get some minor infiltration thru the tailgate, not a concern for me , bought it for security not weather proofing

Is there a way to tuck the rubber without having to remove the whole bed cover? Just found this post after installing my Retrax last night, and was bothered by the excess rubber stripping on each side. Would hate to have to reinstall the cover, since it is now aligned perfectly

No need to remove or even loosen anything. You can simple pry up the area in the red just a little. I used my fingers, no problem. If it doesn't want to go flat, consider cutting a little more off the rubber strip. Better to try it with a little longer, cut more if need until you get the right fit. Super easy!
