Is there a way to make the running boards remain the out position. After I leave the car wash, they retract.

You can configure them as "out", in Sync4/ Features /Running Boards.

But I think it doesn't keep that setting through a second key cycle. Only takes a second to do though after you know where it is.

Since this thread is touching on the running boards topic, is there a way to make the running boards deploy ONLY if I am unlocking the truck?

When I walk by it, they extend every time, and I rather them only do it when I'm unlocking the truck and preparing to get inside.

I can't remember, but I think it's linked to the approach lighting settings. Mine would do that also in the garage, running boards in/out when I walked by. I turned the approach lighting off. I wouldn't mind having the approach lighting, but without the running boards popping out until I unlock or open the door.

also, there is a button near the rear end of the running board you can "kick" and they will deploy and i believe stay down as well on each side until you kick them again.

I do this when I have to park in a crowded parking lot, to hopefully stop any doors from hitting the paint. Starting the truck returns it to normal operation.

Short answer is it's not possible to have them remain out permanently unless you unplug the motors or disable them in some way. You can set them to stay out to wash them or whatever but as soon as you start moving they'll retract again.

Is there a way to extend the time they stay out by 10 or 15 seconds?
I hate using the passenger door to get something out, then walk to the drivers door just to have them retract just extend again when I open the drivers door.

Stand on it and shut the door, the safety mode will kick in. The safety mode is when it feels resistance going up, it stops as to no crush what is between it and the truck. Then next time you get in they will go up.
Thanks

There is an option for when they open in the settings menu.

In addition to what was said below about the running board setting in the Truck Features Tab on the bottom of the screen, I set mine up to save the running board setting in the bottom middle of the screen. You can pick one quick pick button so to speak. That way when I go through the wash, I deploy them quickly.
