I put the megaohm metal pin on my truck as it gets -40 and almost plus 40 (104F) here so I didn’t want to chance the plastic pin breaking. It’s a super easy peace of mind mod
This is very disturbing on a number of levels:
1. Why can’t Ford design a fuel fill system that works reliably every time? We’ve been building cars that take petrol for decades and still can’t get this right?
2. If the metal pin is the answer, why aren’t these trucks built this way? Saving .01 per unit sold?
3. Why doesn’t the error message contain a link or pointer to the relevant section in the manual? Not just for this obscure error, but for EVERY error reported to the driver?
4. And of course the big banana - WHY THE FXXK isn’t this in the OP’s manual?
