Hey! Thx for reading...
So, as above RCSB, need to position and mount an aux battery, group 31. I plan an isolatable 'house' battery for toys and Anderson plugs, 1/0 cable for winching both ends(portable to front and rear receivers)
I spent months looking at under the passenger door/bed, on the frame, outside - could not make myself happy - frame holes, no real 'under support, kinda' cantilevered.
Looked enviously at ALL THAT ROOM up in the bed fender - could not make myself happy - no real 'under support, kinda' cantilevered, and connections not serviceable (reach).
Today, I was checking front dam clearance, etc and saw all that wonderful space behind front bumper, but still below real grill, shutters, and radiator. Looks big enough for a keg or two. Anyone know why there is all that empty space - some designed in option I didn't get?
Anyone see any design difficulties for a well supported battery there, with a positive term fuse and 'frame' hpde shielding (in case of battery moving in a wreck)? It would be only slightly less protected than the OE battery...
I get that I need to prepare for a front accident, but over the long haul I tend not to hit things (forward), but I do get hit - and that is kinda' random or rear based.
Any better suggestions, points I didn't consider?
