Random Clicking Noises

I have had this happen on my 22 f150 and a possibility could be the actually be the brake system or possibly the computers going to sleep.

Ok here is the back story and explanation for the brake system answer. My friend's father works for major brake manufacturer and they have a 21 silverado that has similer noises. After some observations on the silverado the brake pedal goes to the floor and back all by itself after about 20 min of sitting. so after some talking to his father he found out it is the brake system is doing a self maintaince test because it is electronic and not vacuum controlled like other vehicles. Anyway last weekend he asked me if my truck makes random noises after the vehicle is sitting? and this is how I found out about a brake system maintaince test on electronic brake systems.

No push button start here or proximity fob but mine does the clicking under the hood as I start to enter the number on the door keypad then shortly after it makes a whirring sound under the back like when you set the park brake so I don't know if it's setting or releasing that. I don't normally set the park brake but I have noticed it being on sometimes when I get in to start the truck. I usually just put it in gear and go and if the park brake is engaged it releases itself.

I have the parking brake come on if I put the truck into park but do not have the brake petal pushed down all the way. It is like the truck senses that the brake petal is not all the way on and engages the park brake. Happens if I am real quick stopping the truck and putting the shifter into park.

Did anyone find out what the clicking is? I’m hearing it after I lock the doors, fob and phone are not around and a few minutes later I hear a click under the hood? Truck is running fine just seems odd.
