Just had to have my 2023 F-150 Powerboost that I picked up the day after Christmas towed to the dealership with 733 miles on it. Was dropping the kids off at baseball practice the other night and the Service Vehicle Soon light came on and an alert on my Fordpass app stating Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. When I got home and turned off the vehicle the Stop Safely error warning showed. Tried restarting the truck and it would not start. The dash shows check engine light, the stop warning and the service vehicle soon warning. I had it towed to the dealership yesterday and this morning they called and said it would take a few days to figure out what wrong. Crossing my fingers they can diagnose this quickly. I was set to be going on a camping trip next weekend, but now it's in doubt. After 3 years with the Powerboost in production you'd think they'd have these issues figured out.

I've had this aler happen to my '21 twice... both times powering it off and letting it sit for a few minutes cleared the code / error; its never actually lost power or had any real issues operating correctly.

IIRC there are a couple of posts of this issue being related to water intrusion into the main power connector

I’ve seen other posts about it as well. Seems like there could be several causes. I couldn’t get it started even after letting it sit overnight in the garage.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

Same issue with my “21 PB. It is sitting dead in my driveway waiting for the next available service appointment on Feb 2nd. It’ll start after I leave it sitting for a few minutes , but the engine idles extremely rough for 4-8 seconds and then shuts down by itself.

I think my dealership was so surprised by what little miles I had on my truck they fit it in right away. When I initially called they said the next available appt. was 1/26. Thanks goodness they provided me a rental car as well. Not sure what I would do without the rental as I can't go more than a day without a vehicle. Good luck with you truck.

I had something vaguely similar happen when line-x forgot to plug the pro-power generator panel back in after a spray in. Could just be a loose connector in the high voltage system somewhere.
Got in a weird situation where I could not start the truck from the inside but for some reason the remote start would work.

I started watching this thread after my 21 with ~42K miles had this same issue. Just got a call from the dealership that mine was caused by a water intrusion issue requiring the replacement of 2 of the high voltage lines (one being replaced under warranty) to the tune of a little of $3K. If this sort of damage can occur this easily, I'm seriously concerned about the longevity of this truck. I have loved my Powerboost and all the features with it but this is ridiculous.

Where? What HV lines? How do you think water got in the connection/ cable jacket?
