I have a two tone Star White King Ranch. On the left rear door in the Stone Grey section way down on the bottom there is white blemish. It is not raised or indented and feels like the clear coat is over it. I have attached a photo.

Does the look like a paint defect?

Did you buy it and take it home that way?
Yes, I did not see it until I was washing it the other day. It is a bout 1/2 in length.

Kind of looks like a white transfer scuff that wasn't fixed before the clear. Have you tried to polish it off?

Not yet. I just noticed it yesterday. It is down under the roll. You can not see it just looking at the truck.

With any luck it's just surface and won't take much to remove.

I think the painting process has actually improved over the years.
when I bought my 79 Chev c-10, it was months before I noticed there was little to no paint on the roof toward the center. Just a big primer red circle..
I did not worry too much about it as I moved to Arizona when the truck was about 18mo old.
Had the whole thing repainted when it was 10.

My 05 Ranger was absolutely flawless and the paint held up on that pretty well. It was always parked with the same side facing the sun so I had to get the passenger side repainted at about 10 years. At 15, the paint on the roof started going away.

Im seeing 10-15 yo pickups here in the Texas sun and heat that look just like they left the factory, and even those that have not been properly cared for, the color is still there and it might even rub out just fine.
