Anybody dealing with an oil leak behind the transmission pan? Truck is a powerboost with just under 10k miles. I read about a similar issue with gaskets/plastic pans on previous f150 gens, but couldn’t find anything on here. Taking to dealer next week.

Will do. Appointment on Tuesday. Truck has been running fine. Haven’t checked the transmission dip stick. Going to let the dealer mess with it. Agree, doesn’t look good.

I don’t think the new 10 speeds have dipsticks, they are sealed units now.

They do have a dipstick, but it is only accessible from the bottom of the truck.
the fill plug does have a level indicator, but there is no actual conventional dipstick and tube.
DO NOT remove this plug unless the truck is running and the trans warmed up or you will end up with fluid everywhere.

There’s a video on YouTube that shows the process of checking the fluid level but you got to be careful around the exhaust. I suck at being careful so I’m leaving it alone… good info to know in a pinch though…

Dealer says it’s a shaft seal. Caught it early so no damage but has potential to become a big deal if left alone (I don’t have any experience with a shaft seal). Part they need is in back order. Ford is supposed to give them an approx eta by Monday for the part. They’re keeping the truck for now. Going to file some report with ford to get a loaner once they have the estimated date. Yay!

Good morning! Could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name and location of the Ford dealer you are working with? I would like to see what I can do to help with getting your truck repaired.

Update: Ford came through... Got the shaft seal to the dealer by Friday. Picked up the truck on Tuesday. All seems fine. Was told once Ford gets involved, other dealers can’t hold back parts in stock. Went through something similar with Chevy supply chain on my last truck. Ford handled it much better. Chevy ended up paying me $250 because I found the part before they did (trailer control module). Wanted to add, Ford of Boerne got to my truck quickly, open line of communication, and no BS timelines. I would recommend…

So the first time it got really cold this winter in December in Montana -25F my 21 King Ranch had three shaft seal failures, both front drive shaft seals and into the rear differential. All were replaced under warranty. There were a couple of other 21 F150’s in for the same thing at the dealer.

Mine just started leaking at the same place. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Think I caught mine earlier than yours since my pan isn’t wet yet. I was under there looking at the recall rivets and noticed the leaking. Any issues since they fixed it?

Glad to hear that. God, what a world we live in. We spend so much money so that new cars start to break down straight from the conveyor... Great. From my side, I've purchased Hobart(specs are here). Let's take a look...

Nice to see you are watching sites like this looking to offer help where you can. can you provide me with contact info in case I need your assistance with a future problem? I have this same trans fluid leak, 2021 Lariat with 14,000 miles. Dealer is replacing pan assembly this Thursday. Hopefully it’s not a shaft seal.

Mine started leaking only after I had the dealership do a fluid flush. I can’t tell where it is coming from. But I gotta drop the truck off and get them to fix it Monday. My leak looks the same as yours from your pictures. But I never had any issues until the dealership touch it
