The dealer did my first oil change and apparently took off the cap AND the filler tube, because now the O-ring is broken and sticking out.
How does the neck come off so I can replace it?

I’ve called 6 times today, 3 different people said I’ll take your message directly to the Service Manager and he’ll get right back to you. Uh huh.

I talked to parts and he said the neck is part of the valve cover, that there’s no separate pieces in any of his diagrams.

I know it’s just an O-ring.
I don’t want to pull off the neck to find that what’s there is too short, as in there might be some inside the engine and then I get blamed for it.

Looks like I’m driving up there first thing in the morning.

It’s one thing that we’re dealing with all the recalls and electronics issues from the Factory, but this is a simple, bonehead thing that is completely preventable

The guy that everyone b*&%ches to at work...
My first reaction was, ‘how…?’ Then I saw the pictures and was even more baffled. They need to fix that pronto, whether it’s a Ford dealership or Jiffy Lube.

Fixed!
The entire ring was there, with no missing pieces.
The Service mgr took the neck off another truck on the lot to get me back on the road.
The parts diagrams show nothing, but there was a part number on the O-ring, so they ordered one to put back on the new truck.
What a PITA.
