Still week 1 in my new truck - was sitting in the coffee drive-in line, piddling with settings, and came across this view. Says I have 17 engine hours with 8 of them idle? Is this inclusive of some sort of factory test before the odometer was baselined? Or did someone drive my car really really slow before I bought it? :D

I suspect a combination of factory testing and YouTubers making the 21 F150 videos we're all watching. At least your engine may be broken in?

Do you have remote starter? Its possible that someone just let the engine run...and run....oh and run!

Yeah, I would agree - at least it’s broken in. Fortunately, no issues with anything on the truck yet, aside from some light rust on the bottom that the dealer cleaned up.

I do, which would explain the idle hours, but not the total!
Sure...the engine has been running for 17 hours, 8 of the hours were spent idling.
But that means, 9+ hours in driving usage.

Have you been driving in it to that extent?

There were only ~280 miles on the truck at the time of the reading. The truck would have had to average 30 mph or less to account fo 9 hours of driving and that doesn’t explain the idle time. I’m not concerned - just find it more curious than anything.

Not surprising to me. Once built it gets moved to a holding lot and if they are shuffling the trucks around they likely leave them running. Then they are idling the day they get put on railcars, then stuffed into another holding lot and on and on.
