New Power-Up OTA Update 4.2.4

Glad to hear your truck is catching up. That's great, expect the 4.x.x updates to come soon.

On the battery SOC thing, it's really just a theory, but I keep reading people here say "I was driving here or there and then my truck updated" . I really wish Ford would put out a comprehensive technical document explaining the OTA process functions. It seems to be a big mystery that's under lock and key, and only known by Ford's software development department.

Agree ? %. And possibly initiate a download option for those of us who are tech savvy. If we could lighten the overall OTA system by direct download, perhaps those who are satisfied with the OTA’s would get them sooner.

A little off topic - I received 4.2.4 and since then, I have noticed my side cards change from the last setting. I have my radio on the big side and my phone on the small side. Will start the truck and the small side has changed to navigation. Has anyone noticed something similar?

Since getting 4.2.4 I have noticed the wipers take one swipe back and forth on starting. Also if I turn the radio off before shut down, next time I start radio comes on in the AM with the sound up. Everything seems to work otherwise, just slight changes in behavior.

Updates shouldn't change operation. Maybe a little more testing before release might help. I guess there is just too many different configurations in the trucks for Ford to make one update fits all.

mine went to an AM station that was all spanish...lucky me as a texan it was not to strange. my ford pass screen flips to spanish in ads for service quite often as well????

Job 1 PB here...After doing all my FDRS updates 2 weeks ago to get on 4.2.2, about 4 days ago I got 4.2.3, and then today I got 4.2.4.

4.2.2 was so feature packed, after just a few weeks on it, I can't really tell what's changed if I'm being honest. But I'm happy to be receiving OTA updates again.

One thing I’ve noticed with the quick fire 4.x.x OTA releases is I don’t have to continually hit the recirc button on the hvac controls anymore. Hoping that feature has had some positive tweaks and it’s not all in my head.

Check if your courtesy wipe feature is turned on.

I’ve noticed this as well but I think it’s due to the warmer outside temp. I don’t know what the exact temp is but for me it seems if it’s ~65F outside, my recirc will stay on. However if it’s colder than that, it does its thing where it shuts off after a few minutes.

Who knows. I hate that feature (of it turning off).

I just got back from a long drive and received 4.2.4 and now my secure alert is missing as expected.

Got 4.2.4 in the parking lot at work today. Securialert is gone. If we just randomly removed features from our software like that, we'd never hear the end of it

Still not sure what the 4.2.x series has given me.
