Has anyone tried one of the new FRAM oil filters (FL500s equivalent). the FE10575?

Have a 5.0 here.

I've seen several tear aparts of this new filter VS the Motorcraft FL500s. the Motorcraft filter looks very cheaply made torn apart (cellulose paper media)

the Fram has a synthetic filter media with a wire backing. (identical to the AMSOIL filter (((made by Champion))))

https://www.fram.com/products/oil-filters/synthetic-endurance

Just wondered if anyone had any experience with these. Looks like a great filter for use with fully synthetic oil.

As a rule, I never use Fram oil filters on anything that I can get a better filter for. I have seen videos of people tearing filters apart for comparison, and Fram's stuff always seems of lesser quality than other brands.
Agreed. I will never use a Fram oil filter. The Motorcraft filter is a good filter.

There are “Better” filters to be had for sure. But the FL500 is a good filter and I’m always leary of using different filters than a product is designed for. All filters will have different characteristics. Flow, back pressure, bypass pressure etc. In my case, ford engineered the 3.5l EcoBoost to use the FL500s. Does it matter? Maybe?? Maybe not?? Hard to say.

Even adding something like a bypass filter does change these characteristics. For the better or worse? No idea.

So I stick with the FL500s and change my oil every 5k.

So my local Walmart is now selling Motorcraft oil and filters. The part number is "FL500SW" and I assume the "W" is for Walmart. Does anyone know if this is a standard Motorcraft filter, or a cheapened version for Wally World?

Can you provide a link to the FL500SW filter you are referring to at Walmart????

Are these on the shelf in a store or online?

I have yet to see this item locally.

I literally buy the FL500S in lots of 10 and keep them for a couple years. I dislike Motorcraft oils but like their filters

Has Fram upped their quality?
The newest one I posted is sold by FRAM, but its made by Champion.

Its even taller than the FL500s.

I like the synthetic filter media, instead of cellulose cardboard.

Online they only have the FL500S that I can find.

My local store has recently added a space for them and the shelf tag lists the part number FL500SW. I have never seen the space filled, but I have hopes. :)

Ok, so Fram has indeed upped the quality of their premium filters and that is a good thing. However I find it odd that you can only buy this particular filter at Walmart while they sell the rest of their product line at Advance.
