You’re probably better off not buying a new F-150. On Friday afternoon I had an eye doctor appointment. When I came out from the appointment my truck wouldn’t start and it kept telling me to press the brake. After trying 5-6 times it finally started, but the message wouldn’t go away. After parking the truck for the night it was fine the next day.Usually any mention of Granger here is positive. My experience with them wasn't great, but my perception of it was maybe colored because I was having a particularly bad day that day, and the minor stuff that happened with them just topped it off. I called to ask about getting a price on a particular configuration of truck, and the sales lady I talked to wanted to first make sure the 4% below invoice applied in this case. That sounds like good policy, that way she could avoid telling me something incorrect and having to backtrack. She was supposed to call me back a bit later and let me know. I didn't hear from her, so the next day at about noon I called her back and she told me yesterday afternoon was crazy and she didn't get to it. I guess the next morning was crazy too, though she didn't mention that. In any case, she tried to transfer me to someone else to give me specific information on a price, and I got (I'm sure accidentally) disconnected. I was driving at the time and I wasn't going to pull over to call them back, ask for her, and tell her I got disconnected. I was just discouraged and done with it. I never called them back. I had previously sent an email to the address they say to send requests for a quote to, and I never heard back. That's why I called in the first place. I know the second time of getting nowhere was not really lack of caring on their part, I just got a bad feeling about the whole thing. It started to seem like a situation where I'm trying to give you money and you're running screaming from it. I have a ram truck now that's giving me so much trouble that I'll likely end up having it bought back, and I was gonna try again for a '24 rcsb 4x4, but now I'm thinking if this happens maybe I should just keep driving my '96 blazer that's paid for and keep the extra money in the bank.
You know, I'm thinking you may be right. It seems that since about 2019 for the rams and 2021 for the fords, there has been a distinct decrease in quality of the new trucks. I don't really look at gm because they're pretty ugly to me and they don't make what I want-a v8 rcsb. Ram doesn't either, but their trucks at least look good to me and in my opinion the ride quality and interior quality is hands down better. It seems like the market has reached a place where they're turning out crap and charging record high prices for it. Maybe I ought to just cool my heels and let whatever market correction that may happen go on and happen. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if ford ended up in a situation similar to ram-lots of stuff on lots not selling. I don't want them to go out of business, but it seems like they've gotten too big for their britches and may need an attitude adjustment. They might calm the hell on down on their prices some-salesmen doubling as maytag repairmen has a way of getting them right on the price. You’re probably better off not buying a new F-150. Eye of the beholder....I love itSide note:
I had no idea the gauge clusters looked like this now. Hideous and not all that aesthetically pleasing, oh my lord. Look's like something that would be on a side by side or something?
Sue them. One dealership told me that they wouldn’t do warranty work on my truck because I didn’t purchase it from them.
I’ve had to file a lemon law case against Ford in the past. I had a 2020 Platinum that had a bunch of electrical issues, a sunroof leak, and a bad vibration. The dealerships couldn’t replicate the issues until a field service rep showed up and confirmed everything that I stated was true. He also had to teach the techs how to balance the wheels and reinstall them.Sue them.
The quality control is non-existent. How many people laid eyes on this truck before it made it to me?Looks like a shockingly bad day on the paint line; thin paint and contaminants. Having worked in various assembly plants, albeit decades ago, I am amazed this got out in the first place.
They didn’t look over the truck very well. They said that it was inspected and cleaned, but when the driver picked it up it was dirty and there was a long screw hanging out of the rock guard next to the wheel.I would be interested to see Granger's response to this. It's always good to get both sides of the story if you can. I'm particularly interested to see their take on the truck that started this whole thread, and what they did or didn't do to make the customer whole after discovery of all the defects. THAT tells more about them as an organization than a bunch of good experiences where nothing went wrong during the process. My experience with them wasn't great, but what went wrong there is the kind of stuff that just happens sometimes-I'm not mad at them or swearing never to do business with them. The bad day I was having at the time also contributed to my perception of things too.
I wonder if they have a low level employee that needs to be disciplined or fired. Still, even if that's what the problem is, how they stand up and address the situation is really important here. They didn’t look over the truck very well. They said that it was inspected and cleaned, but when the driver picked it up it was dirty and there was a long screw hanging out of the rock guard next to the wheel.
Your truck and assuming others during that stage would be affected. Every worker in that process line was def. hungover or high as a kite! The quality control is non-existent. How many people laid eyes on this truck before it made it to me?
