Looking for advice on order

I placed an order on Thursday from my local dealer for a xl loaded max tow/payload etc. for Msrp. Now after researching more and hearing about Chapman ford I inquired with them and can get an xlt with max tow/payload etc for less then the xl with my local dealer. I have not gotten any confirmations from my local dealer yet on anything. My question is can custom orders be canceled before they are picked up by ford? I am a little hesitant to order from a different dealer that I have never dealt with before. But I have heard nothing but positives about Chapman. My dealer is closed today so I cannot cancel today. Saving $3000 and getting a higher trim level truck it’s a no brainer. Just don’t want to order from Chapman before I can confirm I can cancel my first order.

Ok, Chapman, Granger and koons offer % under invoice each are different. Yon can cancel and order at any time for whatever reason, and i hope this helps you.

Depending on where you live, Chapman is Pa, granger is Iowa and Koons Va.

Thanks for the help. Chapman is the closest only about 90 miles from me so that works the best. My local dealer is very small and was hoping that helps with custom orders being placed. But from what I have been reading it really doesn’t matter.

You can cancel at any time for any reason. You are in a good position not having to put a down payment on it. I had to put $500 down on my first order and I canceled after the Vin was produced.

Being 90 miles from Chapman you are so lucky! They are awesome and definitely cancel your other order and go through Chapman!

If you going to save thousands, is worth driving to Chapman. You can ask local dealer to match the price otherwise tell them to cancel your order and put another order thru Chapman.

Yea I don’t think local dealer will come close to 4% under invoice. Plan on canceling Monday. It’ll make me feel a lot better being under $50,000 and not an xl equipped truck lol.

4% under invoice available for all trims except Raptor. All rebates are available on top of that.

If it were me I would see if they'll match it (They probably won't) but if they do awesome if not at lest you know you gave them the opportunity.

From what I’ve read, the smaller dealers will also have a harder time getting your order picked up in the Ford system due to limited allocations. Larger dealers have more order slots available…could be wrong, but my impression was that your order will get “built“ more quickly with a higher-volume dealer than a smaller one. So it’s not only the cost side—it may also impact timing.
