Hey all,

made the appointment to get standard LineX in my bed.Looking forward to getting this done, and then installing my retrax pro. I asked the scheduler if theyfully remove the tailgate, which they do.Inam some-what apprehensive about this, but they do all the trucks for the local dealerships so I’ll give them the benefit of a doubt that there won’t be scratches, dings, or issues with my power tailgate and camera when they’re done. The other question I asked was if they spray over my bed bolts. The lady I spoke to said they remove and reinstall. I mentioned that I believed the bolts are a “one use and done”, and that I’d prefer they simply spray over them. She mentioned that I could ask the installer, and that they haven’t had any issues arise from doing this.

Am I making this a bigger deal than it needs to be? I’m fine with removing the tailgate, but I think I’ll be firm on them spraying over my bed bolts.

I posted this previously on another Line X Thread. Reposting FYI

I wanted to convey the info I received from my local LineX Dealer as not all of them are as informed as he is.

When i went In to drop off the truck, I asked him if they remove the Tail Gate. He said they do and said, don't worry i know of the issue with the 2021 trucks. We have to back the truck into the bay, drop the tailgate then lock it and let the system go to sleep before we fully remove the Tailgate. Must work as I have no issues.

did you replace your bed bolts with new ones, or did they re-use them?

My truck was sprayed on Tuesday, this picture clearly shows the bolts were not removed. I never asked about the tailgate removal, I went to a reputable place that has done work for me several times over the last 20 years and didn't feel the need to question them.

What's the reason for not spraying over the bolts?

My current F250 has been used for hard work and materials hauling, and the bollts have been sprayed over with line X since 2008.

4 years ago, when I had the truck sprayed with Kevlar on the exterior, they removed the bed, to spray the area on the back of the cab and front of the bed. Bolts came out with zero issues, and they sprayed a repair patch over the new ones once it was reinstalled. Don't overthink it...
