Picked up my 2021 f150 platinum on Saturday and absolutely love the truck. I had a 2018 xlt so this is a big jump for me. I'm having issues with my key fob. I can lock and unlock the passenger side door with my keys in my pocket. But for the driver side I have to take the key out of my pocket and bring it close to the door handle otherwise it won't work. It's like it can't sense the key in my pocket. Could it be a battery issue? Any advice is welcome Thank you. Also I wasn't planning on trading in my old truck for like another 3 years but this forum made me jealous of everyone getting their trucks ? ?.

Does this happen with both key fobs? How about starting up the truck? Might be a sensor issue.

I will test the other fob when I get home. I got home on Sunday and all of a sudden a message came up saying key not detected. Truck was still running. I shut off the truck and tried to restart but it didn't cause key wasn't being detected. I then locked and unlocked the doors with buttons on the fob and hit push to start and it started. Maybe it's a sensor issue.

I have yet to have that issue with this truck but when I had it with the previous trucks it was due to the battery starting to fail, I have occasionally had the issue because I have other crap in my pocket with the keys but that was quickly rectified, I'd try what was suggested to you above and check the other key fob and remember the fob shaped indentation under the cupholder pad if the key fob is ever dead, putting the fob in that indentation allows you to start the truck even if you don't have a battery in it (the FOB not the truck LOL)

Thank you for the advice. I will try the other fob when I get home. Hopefully it's just a battery issue. Nearest Ford dealership is an hr away and closed on weekends so would have to take a day off from work.
