So I've been getting 4x4 faults at an increasing rate. The codes (which I didn't record) lead to the IWE's, basically I think the computer can't tell or can't engage/disengage the IWE when requested...
I started to look at replacements...and it gets confusing and contradictory all over the internet, so I'm looking for some professional assistance (without having to deal with the dealership...)
ML3Z3C247-H : $340
ML3Z3C247-D : $130
I would assume the Ford Parts website should be the accurate one...but since that puts me into the -H, i'm really hoping someone can tell me why I can't use the -D? stock images of both are the same so that doesn't help...and google AI data seems like I should use the -D....
Any knowledge on this subject is certainly welcome
*Problem history: I had been running my truck in A4WD pretty much all of the time. I then randomly started getting the 4x4 fault after it sat, overnight or several hours. But I would switch it to 2wd and fault goes away, and after a few hours I'd switch it back to A4WD and everything was fine. Then it became more consistent, and I tried driving in A4WD, then switching to 2WD when parked, and that went ok for a while, but now I'm more consistently getting the 4x4 fault anytime I use A4WD, or 4WD. so I feel like I'm headed to replacing these...
