Honk during startup

Greetings,

I just bought a gently used 2023 F150, 4x4, crewcab, xlt w/ 302A, max tow, 5.0L.

This is the first new ford I have bought since 2004, I have owned (3) 1995 F150s since. I am a little concerned with all the Electronics on this truck! I do love it already, I bought it in AZ and drove it home to CA. It only has 17k miles, so I'm not too concerned yet about issues.

My issue right now is: Everytime I start the truck it honks. I don't remember it honking on the test drive, but now it does. Does this have anything to do with Security Settings?

Also, so far my Truck has NOT been recalled for the 9.75 rearend axle bolt repair (built in 1/2023). Is this a real concern?

The Truck also had an Oil Pan leak, repaired under warranty before I bought it.

The horn on startup isn't right, I'm not sure what would cause this to happen. I'm certain there's nothing in settings that would do this. The truck will double honk if you start it, leave it running and exit the vehicle with the key fob in hand. This can be disabled with Forscan but there is no in vehicle settings to disable it.
As far as the axle bolt recall, only a certain number of trucks were recalled for this. Your 23 is most likely newer and outside of the population of recalled trucks. I'd pay attention to it though as I don't think Ford has released a final fix for this problem and when they do they may broaden the scope of the recall, depending on what the fix is.

Is your truck honking on startup when you are in the cab or during remote start? Both?

Hello,

It honks everytime I start the Truck. It doesn't matter whether inside the truck or remote start.

Do you think it is worth a try disconnecting the battery?
