So I'm doing a complete upgrade of the stereo system in my 21 Plat. Picked it up used a few months ago. Noticed that when playing music w bass, I could hear a pretty good rattle from the sub. Figured it was just somewhat blown and didn't care as I was soon planning to upgrade it all. Yesterday I got to work on it and noticed it was just very loose and rattling. Tried to remove the nuts and they were just spinning? Had to grip the top with a vice grip to remove the nuts. Pic is what I found to be the issue. Guessing this was overtightened at some point? Anyone else run into this? Bought the truck from an old farmer and can't imagine he had any reason to be doing anything with the sub. Not sure if Ford would take care of this as a warranty issue? If not, what's the best way to fix this as I need to use one of the mounts to hold my amp board in place.
