I have a 2021 f150 platnum powerboost 45k mi. I bought the truck used. The headlights have developed cracks inside the plasic. These are ford headlights not aftermarket. A local dealer recommended contacting ford because this looks like defective material.
1. has anyone else had cracks develop in their headlights?
2. Does anyone have a contact at ford corporate that might help?

Do you still have extended warranty with light coverage?

No. Lights are not supposed to crack like that in 4 years. I know the company will try to deny its thier fault. 2021 was a difficult year for sourcing supplies. I'm hoping ford recognizes they supplied bad parts and will make it right. Nothing will happen if I don't try.

I don’t think you’ll have much luck with Ford on a used truck out of warranty. Who knows what happened there.

It seems odd both sides are doing the same thing. Either way that sucks as they are expensive . Maybe they can cover at least half or something

I attached a PDF right off of Inford. I have intimate knowledge on this problem as it happened to me, I got Warranty with no problem. But wait, I was in Service waiting area and another guy had the same problem with the same cracking as I had (same as yours) and they denied Warranty, this other individual bought his truck with that 3M (Xpel) film already on the front of his truck including the headlights, the Dealer (or Ford, I don't know who) claimed that the film traps heat in the light causing the lens to crack, I never did hear the outcome but he was really mad.

I have seen this on Ford vehicles before, it is a known problem. If I was you, I would try for Warranty, you could also ask for AWA (After Warranty Assistance) however that involves dealer contribution, you might get that if you ask for warranty at your selling dealer, if you have a selling dealer as you mentioned you purchased it used. I hope the attached PDF helps.

Some of those pictures in that document are up for interpretation. Good to know about the PPF but I need that for where I live. I’ll probably take rock before it will craze . Thanks for posting that info

I know what your saying, some of those pictures that are fogged up the say aren't warranty (X), yet you scroll down and almost the same amount of fog is on another lens and it's warranty (check). It doesn't make sense, I think you get warranty depending on the mood of the person sitting on the computer at Ford that day IMO.
