Yeah, there's power limitations on their design with the rounded nose they use that makes limited contact. Not good for sustained amperage draw but perfect for drive-away trickle charging. I've never had an issue with powerlet outlets over heading or failing to deliver even had reasonably good sized loads. I've run the powerlet outlet on our flat tow jeep without issue. I've installed powerlet outlets on every motorcycle I own, and I use them to power heated gear that has a continuous drawl (10 amp / 100+ watts). at the front of my RV I use an SAE style outlet (only because I havent taken the time to install another powerlet outlet....but I wouldnt hesitate to do so (as a dedicated charge connection) if I were flat towing more often.
