I have known for some time that I was not getting any sound from the passenger A-pillar tweeter in my Lariat so I finally decided to see if it was connected. It was, the wire was pinched and my guess is it was grounding out. I did manage to establish that the wire was still solid and retaped the exposed section then reran the speaker test from the head unit diagnostics. Everything seems to work so I guess I got lucky but if you are having issues with your sound system an easy first check is the diagnostics menu. For those that don't know, just press the FF on the steering wheel and head unit at the same time and it should start the test.
