I searched around but didn't see anything on my issue. If this has been discussed, please send a link.

My truck's front windows will randomly roll back down about 4" after I roll them all the way up. It has happened 3 or 4 times over the past couple of weeks. The first time it was only the driver side, then only the passenger side did it, but never both at the same time. It didn't matter if I used the "one-touch" or whatever it's called or just held the switch on the first click, as soon as the window would close completely it would immediately roll back down a few inches. I would have to turn the truck off and back on to get them to close properly.

What is causing this and how to I prevent it from happening?

Copy and pasted from another website...worked for me.

Carry out all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence:

  1. Close the window.
  2. Press and hold the window control switch until the window is fully open. Keep the window control switch pressed for a few seconds.
  3. Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed. Keep the window control switch held for a few seconds.
  4. Press and hold the window control switch until the window is fully open. Keep the window control switch pressed for a few seconds.
  5. Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed. Keep the window control switch held for a few seconds.

Note: Repeat the procedure if the window does not close when you use one-touch.

do you have in channel visors?
if so repeat above a few times to override the kick back
and you can assist the UP by unsing your hand on the window to apply upward pressure to get to close fully and assist in the reset of the sensitivity

I'm just guessing here but is it possible that it's a safety feature on the windows so if your dogs head or kids hands (or head) is sticking out the window and you raise the glass, the window will reverse to prevent injury? IF there is a safety reverse on the windows could it be that the windows are adjusted too tight to the top frame of the door triggering the reverse action? Just my fifty cents worth. (Think inflation)

Thank you for the information. I will give that a shot.

No channel visors or other accessories.
Thank you. I will give it a try if it happens again.

I was thinking the same thing. If it is a safety, it wasn't thought out very well. If I roll them up normally, without using the one-touch, and hold the switch in the up position, it will stay up until I release the switch. I guess my kid yelling that is head is stuck in the window would probably be a good indicator to let go though. ?

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your F-150 concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
