Hi everyone,

Just a quick reminder to keep your online accounts safe and secure:

Use a unique password for each site – reusing the same one means if one account gets hacked, the rest are at risk.
  • Make them strong – longer is better! Mix upper/lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever possible for an extra layer of protection.
  • Be cautious with links and attachments – especially in emails or messages from unknown sources.
  • Keep software updated – updates often include important security fixes.

Kthxbye!

A little extra effort now can save a lot of trouble later. Stay safe out there!

I don't even use the same email address more than once.

I have my own domain (several, actually) and I set up a new/different alias for EVERYTHING I set an account up for. I NEVER give out my real email address. I likely have a couple hundred or more email aliases set up.

For example, you might have f150gen14.com@your_domain.com set up for these forums.

If you ever start getting spammed:

1. Just remove the 1 email alias, create a new one, and change your email address here. This way, you don't have to update your email address at 198 different web sites.

2. You know exactly which site/organization gave away your email address based on what address is getting spammed.
