Hello All,

I usually don't do much posting just a lot of the reading that is posted. Well, here is my question to all of you and I know this has been covered before I just couldn't find where.
My Connected Services are coming due in dec. I have my Blue Cruise for a few more years before it comes due.

The Ford Security Package, seems to be worth renewing but I see it is only on a monthly basis and not yearly. Would rather do it yearly.

The Premium Connectivity, seems to be the Alexa package and I do not use Alexa at home so I don't think I need it in the truck ... I've not used it in a year so that's not going to be renewed unless I'm missing something about this service.

The Connected Navigation, Its a nice thing to have but I usually use Waze just because it's up on my screen with the Apple Car Play. Now, it is nice when I have used it by using the steering wheel button to command it for directions. I don't think I'll miss it but if there were a yearly deal I might renew it.

So I guess I'm asking what have some of you've done when the trial subscriptions were up and it was time to renew the subscriptions? Without a doubt this is a personal preference and how you use your vehicle. Also, have any of you found a less expensive way to pay Ford? I now there were posts where some of you got deals on Blue Cruise but I've not seen any advice on the Connected Services.

Thank you for all the information that I have had access to here. Nice group of people on this forum that share their experiences

You can use the steering wheel voice command button to activate Siri for Apple CarPlay directions, too.

Without a doubt this is a personal preference and how you use your vehicle,
(y) Good to recognize that (y)

In my case, no BlueCruise on my truck, I'd never activated the Connected Services trial, but had found the Connected Navigation useful during my 3-year included subscription (I have a limited bandwidth smartphone plan so tend to minimize use of smartphone navigation tools, don't use streaming audio /CarPlay at all, the Ford Nav meets my needs OK).

So, I did renew the Connected Navigation when that expired after 3-years earlier this year, an annual renewal, but have no other subscription services with Ford.

As you recognized, 'YMMV'. ;)

My 3 year trial on connected navigation is coming to a close too. I will renew for the year. I do not use it much but when I have it has worked great. I do not use my phone for navigation. Keep in mind that with the connected navigation you should be getting the updated maps too, so no cost extra for that. Good luck.

If you use it e.g.; Blue Cruise or it makes you feel safer (security) keep it. I use Apple CarPlay for music & navigation.
I don’t feel security from Ford would benefit me. Blue Cruise is great technology (had a 3 month trial) but I wouldn’t use it much.

I don't have BlueCruise, but do subscribe to other connected services. I like using the Alexa (that itself is on a free trial but premium connectivity is required for advanced features. I like to use that to ask random questions about places I'm travelling through ("Alexa, tell me about..."). I also use Alexa to play music if there is something specific I want to hear. Otherwise I use SiriusXM.

The Wifi is handy when I have passengers, like my niece so she can use her tablet, or if I need to use mine, it's easier than connecting to my phone's hotspot, and the truck has a better antenna for remote areas where my phone might not have a good signal. I live in a rural area and when out cable has gone out, the truck's wifi has worked when we have not signal on our phones. This is paid monthly directly to AT&T.

I did give up the connected navigation when it expired about a month ago. So far, I don't miss it. I always used to use the Ford navigation and it always worked great. On vacation last year I did use Apple Maps exclusively and that worked well also. The only thing I really miss is the ability to use the navigation app to view weather/radar, but I have a carplay app for that too. I also cannot use the Ford/Alexa voice control to set navigation, but I can use Siri. Just something I'll need to get used to!
