Folding Shifter Delete & Rotary Knob Swap

My wife has the 15" in her expedition but i am not sure there is a difference between the 12" and 15" expeditions center console. The only difference i see is the 15" has a door that covers the cup holders. (2024 anyway) Looks like you would have to swap the shifter and the top bezel.

Perhaps it is just the angle of the picture, but the leading edge of the side trim where it attaches to the dash appears to be different to me between the 15" and 12"

Although I'm not sure that trim has to be replaced, the F150 trim could probably stay. It's a shame, as I do prefer the leather-wrapped Expedition piece to the F150 plastic piece.

Okay, then that is a difference between expedition and F150. It looks like the top trim should be exchangeable, though.

Now just have to make sure the connection plug is the same.

If possible, I like the picture a few posts up of the Expedition with the knob all the way up. A lot of work but maybe a third option. Then the pocket can be used for keys.

I talked with him too. He said he is trying to develop one version that everyone likes. I sent him the picture of the other one with it up front. Not sure if he will do it though. My only gripe about that one is how far down inside the cubby the knob is. He said its because you could put something on top an when you flip the WS it could hit the knob and rotate it. Not sure what you would put on top that would cause that though.

I'd prefer it up higher just below the trim level, would look more oem'ish, even if it was in the back. But beggars can't be choosers I guess. lol

I agree I would like it up higher, but also agree I will take what I can get.
I would also go for a front mounted one if the back pocket was a phone cubby with Qi

A couple of hours per day on youtube for a month and you would have enough Fusion360 skills to modify the open source files to whatever you want.

Could the open source files be used to "machine" the part out of metal by any chance? Not that would be cost effective...but I know a guy..
