I tried to use my spare FOB today. Approach lights don't work, and HUD is in different position.
Do I have to set my preferences to the new FOB to get it to act like the primary?

Yes, each fob triggers its own custom settings / driver preferences, so you must program them the same if that's what you want.

The ability to program different is useful for folks with two drivers (e.g. spouse with 'their' fob and preferences).

Or, set up one for the kid with certain limits enabled.
