F150 trailer lights and brake fault message.

2022 f150 when trailer connected shows trailer brake fault see manual. No trailer lights. Then screen shows taillight fault right side. Changed bulbs nothing. Out old bulb back sprayed contact spray on bulbs, and trailer plug. Nothing. Left driveway to go to mechanic everything started working. Ground problem? Other ideas

Try spraying your trailer plug with contact cleaner

Cleaning plug not recommended by Ford.

Take it into the dealership. There is a known issue with the connectors. My '21 was acting up and the plug was changed under warranty. Works great.

Fault was trailer 7-pin connector on the truck.
DO NOT accept a simulator test that tells you it's OK. Low 12V (~8V) and high-resistance ground paths with system powered off told me there was a connector fault. Too bad the dealer tried to convince me it was fine with their simulator, mine worked too.
