Battery is liquid cooled so very possibly the fan was running to cool the batteries when the outdoor Temps exceeded 115. Any other AZ powerboost owners experience this?
Yeah, and liquid pumps can be noisy also. I think the main reason I wouldn't worry too much is the truck would throw a code if things were getting outside the range of comfort. The fan at full speed is loud on every F-150 I have had, but it's only a few weeks a year that I hear the truck run full speed on the fan.

It's 110F here in Prescott (at an elevation of 5500') as I write this, and my Powerboost fans aren't running at all. Of course, the reason is that it sits, week after week, in the transit area of the KC plant, waiting 3 more weeks to complete its last 300 mile trip to Granger in Iowa. (Sorry...had to 'vent' my disgust somewhere!)

Sorry. Had to laugh. Not at your situation. But, at how you phrased it all.

At first, I was like ... The fans don't run at all??? WTF.

Then, I spit out my coffee as I read more.

Updated: It's a balmy 113 here in Phoenix right now. Pulled the truck out of the garage before lunch and all was normal no fans running. Let it sit in the sun for a few hours.... Just took it for a drive and the fans and running full blast as it did yesterday around this time and temp.

I have an appt with the dealer on Thursday but, the data seems to lines up with the excessive heat the fans run at full speed. .No warnings or dash lights so i'm assuming (hoping) all is normal.

But, damn those fans are loud.

5.0, no Pro power, so no 2nd generator, just 400w, long trip inland Sunday in 100-105 temp, ran cool, AC on, never heard any fan noise. (y)

If you are worried about it DL forscan lite and read the real engine, trans temps, and many many other things

My PB King Ranch was EXTREMELY loud during that first week when Phoenix had 115-118 degree weather. There were times when I questioned whether it was able to keep up with the heat, and might actually damage itself, but all the gauges remained in the NORMAL range. We are now in Seattle (snowbirds), and the truck sounds normal again. Also, it is getting MUCH better gas mileage in this cooler climate.

Everything I've read says the rad fans kick in on full when the battery temp is too high. They always turn off then the temps are cooler. We will see if the PB batteries can take the AZ heat long term. Thank goodness for the the 8yr warranty.

We were 115+ for 3 days in the northwest territory last weekend. My Powerboost was running it's battery cooling fans full-bore for 10 minutes after parking it in the driveway. I could feel the breeze on my legs when I stepped out of the cab - it was very refreshing!

I wouldn't be worried about the fans running. I would be worried if they didn't!
