Typically summer day in AZ where the average temp was over 110. On my way home I noticed the engine fans were running full blast all the way home. Any other extreme heat powerboost owners experience this?

Did you have the AC running too? That could also be why the fans were running.

How can you tell that they are running “all the way home”?

It's super loud. And it remained on even after I parked it and in all electric mode. Sounds like the fans running full blast.
Ac on/off didn't matter.

Even if you can tell, who cares? Wouldn't have anything to do with it being a PB since the engine is the same, essentially, as a 3.5L EB. The electric motor isn't kept with the engine, either is the battery. And while we as humans care about 70 degrees vs 110, the normal operating temp of the engine is well over 110, so it wouldn't care too much on its own either. 110 degree air doesn't cool as well as 70, obviously, but as long as it's a good amount below operating temp, and we better hope it is, the engine will cool all the same. Just may take a bit more air to do it, therefor, longer running fan.

I guess you'll have to move to Canada ...

My husband's fan in his 2014 does that a lot when it's hot. We are in Florida. He has a 5.0, though.

Not on my 2021 but my 2012 had that issue a few summers ago. I live in NC and while not quite AZ hot that summer we were sitting fairly close to 100 degrees for multiple days in a row. The truck would cycle the fans constantly and rather loudly.

Had the dealer look at it and I had a leak somewhere buried inside the engine. One of those $10 parts but $2K to get to it. After that the fans ran normally again.

My 3.5 EcoBoost does this constantly too. I don’t see it as an issue, though. It’s hot AF in summertime Florida, and those cooling fans being on the majority or nearly all the time should be expected in my opinion.

I’d be more surprised/concerned if I didn’t hear them to be honest. I'm glad the truck is doing it’s thing to try and keep itself cool!

THe only fan noise I notice in mine (other than the AC) is the ventilated seat fans. They are louder than I would have guessed. Also find it interesting that they turn themselves on if it is hot outside.

My 2013 3.5 had this issue. Except even when it was cold out it would still run full blast.

Just went out after the sun went down. Outside Temps at 103. Fans are all running normal. Do the powerboost have a cooling system for the batteries and inverters similar to the Tesla? I wonder is the fans are running full blast to cool the batteries? Tomorrow is supposed to be 115. I'll see what it does then...

Ford F-150 Engine fan runs continuously in 110 degree heat! Screenshot_20210614-213436_Chrom

Battery is liquid cooled so very possibly the fan was running to cool the batteries when the outdoor Temps exceeded 115. Any other AZ powerboost owners experience this?
